What is the difference between an in-network and out-of-network dentist?
An “in-network” dentist has agreed to a contract with a specific insurance company. That insurance company dictates the fees the dentist must accept as payment. They take an inventory of dental fees in the area and come up with a fee schedule based on all types of dentists including clinic and corporate dental offices that work on volume. Many clinic-style dental offices utilize dental assistants to do much of the work performed by the dentist in our office. They may also use lower quality materials and move patients through their care quickly.
An “out-of-network” dentist is NOT under contract with any insurance company. We take pride that our office uses top-of-the-line materials, products, and techniques to give patients the best treatment available without restrictions from any insurance companies. Our dentist believes that your dental care is something that you and your dentist should decide on together. We also take pride in the fact that our fees are extremely reasonable compared to the industry standard.
Everyone should have access to quality dental care, and we work closely with our patients to provide personalized treatment and service. If you have questions about insurance or coverage, just give us a call and we will be happy to help.
