Dr. Whitney Gomez is the owner of Nederland Family Dental. Dr. Gomez was born and raised in Nederland, Texas. He graduated from Nederland High School in 2002 and continued his education at Lamar University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Gomez graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Dental School in 2009.Dr. Gomez earned the Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry for being one of the top clinicians in his graduating class.
Dr. Gomez is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Southeast Texas Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Gomez has served as President, and been on the Board of Directors for the Southeast Texas Dental Society. Dr. Gomez is also a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and was nominated for Texas New Dentist of the Year in 2013 and Texas New Dentist Leadership Award in 2014.
Dr. Gomez really appreciates the family atmosphere of his practice and his team. Dr. Gomez says, "One of the things I am most proud of is the team that surrounds me. This starts with my biggest cheerleader and supporter at home, my wife April. The rest of my team at our practice works extremely hard every day to provide the best care and most unique experience for our patients. We are consistently training, growing, and honing our skills. We are all committed to excellence."
Dr. Gomez has a special interest in Implant, Cosmetic, and Sedation Dentistry where he has received extensive training. Dr. Gomez has completed a Preceptorship in Dental Implantology at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, and is an alumnus of the Clinical Mastery Series, Engel Institute Dental Implant Training, and has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education throughout his career. Dr. Gomez has a passion for treating patients with very complex and extensive conditions. He states, "The most rewarding thing for me in dentistry is to take a patient that has lost all hope, confidence, the ability to smile, eat, or function properly, and restoring all of these things back for them. With all the knowledge, technology, and techniques we have, it is truly amazing the see the change in people lives from start to finish. I'm beyond grateful that I am able to provide these services for patients."
Dr. Gomez married his high school sweetheart, April, in 2005. They have two daughters, Mabrey and Paisley, and a son, Brayden. In his spare time, Dr. Gomez loves to travel, cook on his pellet grill, exercise, and coach his children in sports. He also has a passion for the outdoors in which he loves to hunt and fish.
