Transform your smile with Precision Restorations for confidence and radiance.
Your teeth undergo a lot of strain and can get damaged from regular use, accidents, or decay. Despite your efforts, there are times when repairs are needed to preserve your teeth and smile.
At Nederland Family Dental, we specialize in creating restorations such as dental crowns and bridges. We collaborate with a dental lab that employs computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology to deliver the most precise and advanced restorations currently available.
Looking for custom dental crowns in the 77627 area?
Have you ever bitten into an olive pit or some other hard, unexpected object? It hurts, and it can break your tooth. Our jaws are strong and can exert enormous amounts of force. When you bite down on something unexpected, you could crack a tooth.
Once damage like cracks occurs, your tooth is not as strong and cannot withstand the pressure from chewing. A dental crown protects your tooth by fitting directly over the top of it and absorbing some of that force from your jaws.
Labs manufacture dental crowns out of metal, porcelain, ceramic, or a combination of metal and porcelain. The type of crown that works best for you depends upon where your affected tooth is located and on the condition of your bite. We want your dentistry to last a long time and be completely comfortable, so once Dr. Gomez evaluates your condition, he can recommend the appropriate treatment.
Before we can place a dental crown over your damaged tooth, we have to prep your tooth, making room for the crown. Next, we will place a temporary crown for you while our expert lab technicians create your permanent crown.
When we receive your permanent crown from the lab, we will schedule a time to seat it and make any final adjustments to your bite so that your crown is completely comfortable.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges function similarly to dental crowns, but they have the added advantage of replacing missing teeth. Traditional bridges consist of special abutment crowns positioned next to the missing tooth. These abutment crowns connect to a prosthetic tooth, filling in the gap in your smile.
In addition, dental bridges serve as space holders to prevent your teeth from shifting and tilting towards the missing tooth.
Modern bridges are now more aesthetically pleasing than ever. Your bridge will seamlessly blend with your natural smile, allowing you to speak and eat normally.
In cases where only one adjacent tooth is available for support, a cantilever bridge is used to replace the missing tooth. This bridge attaches to one side only.
